What we do
- Bexley College is a college of further education. We run a general training and education course for people with a learning disability teaching basic skills and providing an opportunity to attend vocational tasters to people who are 16 year and over.
- We also run a 2-year GEC foundation course for people with more complex needs. The course teaches basic independent living skills with the chance to attend vocational tasters. There is an option for people to attend this course for longer if appropriate. There are also ‘link’ courses which people can attend via their schools.
How to refer
People usually attend the college via a careers interview or through their annual review at school. Selection is made by interview. The College tries to be as flexible to the needs of the individual. People can self-refer.
Cost
Some people have to pay towards their courses; it depends on how many hours you’re at college, if you are working towards a qualification, or if you or your family receives benefits.
