Fraz at Cj's CafeCitizen Jacks Café

  • CJ's is a busy café in the centre of Woolwich that offers training to people who want to work in retail or catering.
  • People are supported to develop a range of skills in all aspects of the running of the café including; food preparation, cooking, taking orders, taking payment, general customer care and cleaning.

Working with Words

  • Working with Words logoWorking with Words works with people with learning disabilities to make information easier to understand.
  • They have worked with many organisations, including: Transport for London, the Healthcare Commission, Department of Health, Department for Constitutional Affairs, BILD, London Sports Forum, Mencap, SCIE, Oxleas NHS Trust, Kent, Greenwich and tower Hamlets Councils
  • They support people to develop IT and multimedia skills.

Riverwood

  • Riverwood is part of Greenwich Mencap and works with people to develop skills in craft and retail.
  • The project recycles driftwood from the Thames and uses it to make things like furniture and picture frames.

  • BTCV support people to develop skills in gardening and environmental work.

Greenwich Community College

  • Greenwich Community CollegeThe college provides a range of vocational courses for people with learning disabilities as well as supporting people to access mainstream courses.
