What is this web site about?
Listen to this 'welcome to our website', from Dino Powell, co-chair of the Learning Disabilities Partnership Board (mp3, 123kb)
This website is about services and information for people with learning disabilities in Greenwich Borough.
It will give you news and information about things that are happening, and will help you to get in touch with projects and see the work that they are doing.
Greenwich Council won Beacon Status for its services for people with learning disabilities. You can find out more about the Beacon award on our Beacon web page. The award helped us to set up this website to tell people about the good work in Greenwich, and to give you the chance to tell us what you think.
You can also read the draft learning disability strategy (pdf, 544 kb) which tells you about plans for services in Greenwich.
To find out more about what is happening in Greenwich, go to our Partnership Board page on this site.
Use the buttons at the left, top or at the bottom to find out more about the services Greenwich Council supports and about other news in the Borough.
Do contact us to tell us about your news and activities that you think should be on this site.
You can also find out about the Council and the work they do by visiting the Greenwich Council website.
Valuing People Now
Valuing People was the government's plan for making the lives of people with learning disabilities and their families better. It was launched in 2001.
Valuing People Now is a new version of this which was released in December 2008. The paper is asking for your views about what should be top of the list for the learning disability agenda over the next three years.
This is the easy read version of the paper (pdf, 1.55mb)
Please tell us what you think about this paper. Please fill in this questionnaire and send it to the address at the end.
So that we know what people in Greenwich think about the paper, please send a copy to:
Marie-Anne Brown
2nd Floor, Riverside House
Woolwich, SE18 6BU
Or email it to marie-anne.brown@greenwich.gov.uk
Greenwich Citizens Advocacy Project held 2 workshops about the paper in March 2008.
To find out more about these, phone Anita Rickard at GCAP on 020 8293 3720.
